Creation Books of the Future - What Do You Want to Read?

Hello friends -- my name is Tim Dudley and I am the publisher of Master Books, the largest publisher of Creation based material anywhere in the world. I am a book guy and I am of course passionate about the subject of creation and biblical authority.

I would love to hear about the books you wish already existed. What books on creation and biblical authority do you want to read and just can't seem to find?

And no good recommendation goes unrewarded! If you recommend something that Master Books decides to publish, I will be happy to give you a $200 gift certificate to the Master Books library.

Hi, Tim,
I would like to see entertaining fiction in the creation apologetics genre, particularly for kids and young people. I have joined the apologetics fiction group on Creation Conversations. I have also read Julie Cave's excellent book and can hardly contain myself until the next one comes out! Until I found this group I was unaware that any books existed in this genre.

I am currently taking an online writing course, Christian Fiction Mentors.Com. I have one book in progress that I started several years ago. It's not creation apologetics and probably will not go that route at all. I have another idea cooking for one that is, however.

And I have a book I wrote several years ago for my nephew and his three sisters when I home schooled them for a semester. I used Kent Hovind videos for science and Bible for those months and the kids were very much into creation science. So I started writing a story, starring them aged ten years and on a hunt for a thunderbird/pteranodon on the Navajo reservation. I would write some each night and read it aloud the next day. The kids always looked forward to that part of our day. Those kids are now aged 22 down to the last one graduating high school next year. They are nearly the ages I wrote them in the story!

I have been encouraged to publish this book, but I didn't know how to go about doing that. It needs some updating and revision now that I have learned more about creation science. I feel like I am shamelessly promoting myself here, but now that I know there really is a move to publish apologetics fiction, I suppose I should take the steps to find out what to do.

What would you recommend?

Thanks!

I'd like to see more books on the history of the ideas behind the modern origins models. For example, what specific connections did the Renaissance make in reviving the idea of an eternal universe without a beginning and how did it creep into astronomy with Copernicus, Galileo, Newton, and Einstein as well as geology with Hutton and Lyell? How did the Great Chain of Being specifically enter into fashion in the influential minds of the Church? What are the specific roots of the idea of progress, did it originate from the Bible being made more available to the public, how did it overthrow the degenerative view of history then held by the Church and in the creationist view of the world to be incorporated by the Christian geologists of the time in a progressive creationist paradigm of geology? What are the paths of influence of secularism that lead up to the Darwinian synthesis of using deep time from the paradigm of those who believed in an eternal universe combined with the progressive view of life from the progressive creationists, all melded together with the secularists view of nature being responsible for the development of the complexity we observe in nature which is the basis of the intelligent design principle? That would be a good book.
Hey Joel, Welcome to the world of creation science!

You might check out this book: http://www.answersingenesis.org/PublicStore/product/Evolution-Expos...

This illustrated expose reveals and refutes every instance of evolution in America’s FOUR most popular biology textbooks.

That would be a good place to start.

Hi, Tim,
I've just discovered this site, and am new to the world of creation science. I go to highschool, next year I'll be going to university to study laboratory medicine. I know that, as of next year, secular origins theories will be pushed onto me. Long story short, I'd like to see a book dedicated entirely to discussing what we're taught in school and uni. I've seen short articles, but I've never seen an entire book on this subject that can adequately equip me for a biased education system.
In case you haven't guessed, I go to a Christian school, so my exposure to evolution, etc. is limited. So, I'd like these things to be addressed and refuted thoroughly.
You don't have to give me a $200 gift certificate for these ideas, I would just like to see them published.

1) I would like to see more apologetics, science and history books. First of all, apologetics. AiG does have some good apologetic books, but they seem to be all the same in that they take the AiG stance and try and use a "Dismantle atheism, use science to support creationism" argument. I don't really need a book that tells me how to not believe in atheism. I want a book that delves deep into the philosophy and truth of Scripture. Sometimes Christians themselves need their own apologetic books because we ourselves need to know more. In using them for unbelievers I think it would be best if they had books that presented the truth of Scripture and not a "secular strategy" in that they first try to destroy the opposite belief then try to build up their own using science. That's what atheism does. Science won't lead people to God. Only God can do that. And if your gonna make apologetic books what's a better method than basing it off of God's Word? More books using more wisdom from Scripture.

2) I would also like to see more Science books. Books that not only teach about biblical events from a scientific view, such as the Flood, but rather books that encompass the whole of science. I know about the ID movement, and I know its unbiblical. That's why I'd like to see books that actually explain the normal curriculum young people are taught in schools from a biblical perspective. It would do a lot of good if besides making books to counter atheistic interpretations(which are school books) you make your own biblical school books. It covers the same subjects and teaches the same thing, except, and most importantly, its taught from a biblical perspective. That way you give college students (who the majority go to secular institutions) a good foundation where their taught first from a biblical perspective and not have to learn the secular way first and then separate the atheistic philosophy from it.

3) I would like to see more History books. I'm a big fan of History and consider it more important than the study of biology. History is the unfolding of all events. If Earth was important enough to be made livable out of all the billions of stars stretching billions upon billions of miles, then its history (which is relatively short) is important enough to be studied. It would be great if someone, for the first time ever, would write down all the major events of Earth's history from a biblical perspective; noting how God used all the events and led all the achievements and success humanity has had from Adam to today. No one has ever done an extensive Historia on everything that includes modern events and America. So I would greatly appreciate seeing that.

Thanks for your time. I hope you take these ideas into consideration. Their more important for me than the reward.
Tim,

I would like to see a publisher approach John K. Reed, PhD, and motivate him to finish his Mabbul trilogy. I think it is currently self-published and he isn't looking to make any money on it. But it is THE BEST, most well-reasoned, and most biblically faithful fictional narrative of the pre-Flood, Flood, and (eventually) post-Flood period in history I have ever read.

It's not a book on creation or biblical authority, specifically, but I've been very disappointed in the Children's Bible's I've looked at. The biggest problem for me is that the illustrations are way off, either not matching the text or not ethnically or historically accurate.

Also, they tend to make Bible accounts into morality tales: "And this teaches us that good little boys and girls behave like this." The point mainly seems to be to get kids to behave better rather than to teach them about how God has interacted with mankind throughout history (i.e. to get to know God better and what he wants from us). Also, they leave out important events or important details in an event.

I kept searching for an illustrated Bible that presents the whole historical narrative of the Bible with maps, Biblical time-line, historical notes, etc., so that children know that this is real history that really happened and know what's really in the Bible rather than what people tell them to believe about a "Bible story."

Since I know of already-published books that meet the other people's above requests, perhaps there's already a Bible out there like this. If so, I'd love to know the title so I can get it. As it is, I've been writing it "as we go" for a 12-year-old girl who had no Bible knowledge and only recently came to Christ. I've been surprised by how much she enjoys reading it, and that's what keeps me going.

With so many Children's Bibles out there, I can't imagine anyone would want to publish one like I'm writing/compiling, so I'm doing it just for her. But it's something I wish had been available for me to use and something I wish was available for others.
Hey Tim,

I love to read on the creation science issue. While there is a lot of scientific literature available on the creation, most of it seems to be broad in scope. Books like, Bones of Contention, and Signature in a cell are great books that concentrate the reader on one specific area of the creation/evolution debate. These books are very useful to those who are actively debating evolutionists that are specialized in certain fields.
Also, books that focus in on the political agendas among the scientific community would be awesome too! There's so much evidence out there that thwarts evolution, I would just love to see what goes on behind the scenes to keep this theory afloat.
Hi Tim,

If you are passionate about the subject of creation and biblical authority, you may enjoy reading Keith Robinson's books, Logic's End and Pyramid of the Ancients. These are exciting fiction adventure books that have great arguments against evolution in a venue that is targeted to teenagers and young adults as opposed to long, drawnout and sometimes boring factual books. His website is www.apologeticsfiction.com. Here you can read a synopsis of the books and see the covers and read about the author, who is an educator and speaker associated with the Midwest Creation Society out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is also a member on this site.
Visit the web site www.apologeticsfiction.com for some good apologetic fiction books.

I don't know if a book publisher can do this, but I'd like to see an apologetics or even just a Christian version of "Elmo's World" or something Sesame Street-like. For that age group. I have a 3 year old that loves to watch it and I can't find anything Christian that meets that same quality.

Personally, I love to read suspense thrillers. Deadly Disclosures was great and I know there are two more of those coming and that's good, too. I'm just hoping for more variety there. I read Frank Peretti's Monster that had a touch of apologetics in it. I also noted that one of the Left Behind books (the adult ones, it might have been the final book?) mentioned the Canopy Theory.

Anyway, so I'd like more suspense thrillers for myself. Are there any Star Trek-type books out there? My wife is usually into that Sci-fi kind. There's one called Ender's Game that would be awesome to get a Christian book of that type. And the stuff for the young children. My 3 year old boy is just getting into his ABC's and counting, which just about the closest he gets to talking. We have "A is for Adam" and such but it doesn't hold his attention yet.

Heh I forgot I'm using our family photo on here. The 3 yr old would be the silly boy I'm holding. He's minor-autistic in that he's diagnosed autistic due to being somewhat behind in speech. Educational books and such for that type of situation would be helpful.
I agree with Joel and also understand how Justin is feeling. I have been thrown into homeschooling and I would love a book or curriculum to teach my children creation science but with side notes without going to indepth on what evolutionist believe. My children are 5 and 7 and I feel that you need to know bothsides so that you can figure out how you are going to argue against evolution. They hear and see the millions years and the terminology everywhere. On the History side I would love to find a great history book or curriculum that teachs what was going on in the church through history and to be more creative than just memorizing or taking notes. Justin be strong and try to but on biblical wordview glasses going to college. I will pray for you. It will be hard.
Hello Tim,

I would like to see a book on unsolved problems in creation science, so people can get a clear idea of the current state of creation research, and what future research might be the most beneficial. I think it would be helpful to have a book that outlines some of the current unsolved problems as well as any suggestions that have been made about how they might possibly be resolved.
