G'day!

I don't know if anyone has noticed except me (tell me I'm not that weird!), but quite some years ago, I realised that dogs and cats have the same three moles on their faces.  One on either cheek and one under the mouth between the chin and the neck.

Any theories as to why?

The question I have is: Do the big cats/wolves have those too? Then also: Do they serve a legitimate function that we can measure??

Dunno (technical term).

I do know that dingoes, our wild dogs here in Oz, do have the same pattern.

I also wonder if it serves any sort of purpose.

Just had a quick look on the Internet (Images), and it looks like it may be so with wolves, but it's hard to tell.  We seem to have a marked lack of wolves in Australia.  Ditto big cats.  Although my dh has seen some mighty huge feral cats!  lol  Checked out a lion cub and it seemed definitely there!  Curious.
