Does anyone know a Christmas song that identifies Jesus as Creator?

I know.  It's only July.  I have just taken on the project of producing the Christmas program for the base chapel here, so I am already hunting music.  I want to show how the Creator stepped into history to redeem His creation.  Does anyone have some song suggestions you can pass my way that will hep depict this?  Many thanks!!

Oh, I've heard all that. But that doesn't alter the fact that we are doing a program to celebrate the birth of Jesus this December and I am still looking for a song.
Thanks for your observation.

I do not know of one, sorry.

I would go off topic a bit and suggest that 'christmas' is the pagan holiday of 'sol invictus' and 'saturnalia' repackaged by Catholicism so I would not expect one.

Down From His Glory, the Song and the Story
Composer William Booth Writes Down From His Glory

Switzerland born William Emmanuel Booth Clibborn (1893-1969) was the grandson of William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army. In 1921 he wrote the words to Down From His Glory. These powerful lyrics became even more intense when he adapted them to the tune of Edwardo Di Capua's famous O SOLE MIO. To sing this song as a member of a congregation or a choir is uplifting. To listen to it sung by a power soloist or duet is a spine-tingling thrill.

Down From His Glory
Down from His glory,
Ever living story,
My God and Savior came,
And Jesus was His Name.
Born in a manger,
To His own a stranger,
A Man of sorrows, tears and agony.

Refrain:
O how I love Him! How I adore Him!
My breath, my sunshine, my all in all.
The great Creator became my Savior,
And all God's fullness dwelleth in Him.
What condescension,
Bringing us redemption;
That in the dead of night,
Not one faint hope in sight,
God, gracious, tender,
Laid aside His splendor,
Stooping to woo, to win, to save my soul

Refrain

Without reluctance,
Flesh and blood His substance,
He took the form of man,
Revealed the hidden plan,
O glorious myst'ry
Sacrifice of Calv'ry,
And now I know Thou art the great 'I Am'

Refrain

A word on Christmas, it is a secular holiday now, but I love to celebrate it, as it allows me to point to my Savior and bring Christ into conversation. It is a Holiday, like unto Thanksgiving or the 4th of July, so not a God Ordained holiday or festival, but it is a great time to celebrate the birthday of Christ, like I celebrate the birthday of my children, with cake and pomp and circumstance.

Anyway. A song for you.
One of my favorite Christmas songs is Lamb Of God by Nicole C Mullen. It might work for you.

I couldn't find a video of Nichole singing it, but here's a video of a couple of young ladies doing a great job:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UMqa2qLeZE

Here are the lyrics:

----VERSE1----
Once upon a long night, after a hard ride, somewhere in Bethlehem
A baby breaks the silence sweetly he's crying I AM EMMANUEL
Then angels gave him music
Shepherds gave reverence and a message to the land
A widow held and cherished the God who became a man

----Chorus----
Oh Lamb of God
Oh Prince of Peace
What tribute shall I bring to worship thee?
I have no gold to lay at your feet
So Lamb of God I offer me

----VERSE2----
Can you see the wise men?
A star did guide them searching all the earth
Till they found the one child the very Godchild who ruled the universe
Did they know the lady's little baby was God and fully man
And everything they gave him he himself had made with his hands?

----CHORUS----

I bring you all my hopes
I bring you all my dreams
I give you all my soul my mind and all my strength
I wrap them all inside my heart to give to thee
AND I come
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore him Christ

Oh Lamb of God oh Prince of Peace
What tribute shall I bring to worship thee?
I have no gold to lay at your feet
So Lamb of God may I offer me

See have no gold to lay at your feet so Lamb of God
Please let me offer me

Lamb of God I offer me
Oh, yes! I do know this song. Thanks for reminding me of it. The music itself is one of those songs that is timeless because of its ability to soar and lift the emotions. It's a perfect vehicle for these great lyrics!

Thanks, too, for your comments on the holiday of Christmas. Well put. Christmas has certainly become a controversial point. In spite of what the world has made of it, it provides us an opportunity to praise God and celebrate His gift to us.

Sorry, I know a lot of good Christian songs, including the ones introduced in posts here, but none which call Christ the Creator. Plenty labeling him son, born in, and the many names of God but no Creator that I know of.

Good question. Someone write one!
Hmmm. I might to give that a try. A few ideas have started to drift around in the gray matter. It's been awhile since I've written a song...

Look up Buddy Davis songs. He's bound to have one.
That's a good thought.

You could try Joy has dawned by current UK writer Stuart Townend. Lyrics now added by edit.

Joy has dawned upon the world
Promised from creation
God's salvation now unfurled
Hope for every nation
Not with fanfares from above
Not with scenes of glory
But a humble gift of love
Jesus born of Mary

Sounds of wonder fill the sky
With the songs of angels
As the mighty Prince of Life
Shelters in a stable
Hands that set each star in place
Shaped the earth in darkness
Cling now to a mother's breast
Vulnerable and helpless

Shepherds bow before the Lamb
Gazing at the glory
Gifts of men from distant lands
Prophesy the story
Gold a King is born today
Incense God is with us
Myrrh His death will make a way
And by His blood He'll win us

Son of Adam Son of heaven
Given as a ransom
Reconciling God and man
Christ our mighty Champion!
What a Saviour what a Friend
What a glorious mystery
Once a babe in Bethlehem
Now the Lord of history

A short time ago I posted a comment somewhere on the site, but I am not sure where it has gone. I said I regret that I do not have time this evening to trawl through the responses to your query to find out if this one has been suggested. If so I apologise for inconveniencing you. I love to sing at Christmas services in church a hymn to the tune "Creation" (Long Metre Double) by Joseph Hydn and written by CB Oxely. The first line is: "Come sing with me this song of love". If you have difficulty finding the words and/or music please let me know and I will email them to you. It is also suitable as a quartet or choral piece.
Sincerely and affectionately yours

Ian C
