Character Descriptions 4 Replies

I've realized recently that many of my favorite authors never really stop to describe the characters, or only spend a few words on them, and yet I think I know exactly what they look like, while…Continue

Strong language? 10 Replies

What are your thoughts on allowing strong language to appear in your fiction? I've seen it done (by Christians) in effective ways...and I've also seen it done lazily, or as if the author was trying…Continue

End Times Fiction Authors? 2 Replies

I've been keen on doing an end times novel... some time...But I work so much better writing with someone else so I thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone is like-minded.Continue

Transparency and Createspace 4 Replies

Has any of you published a book with createspace and had them reject it because of transparency? I think this is because I put scans of pictures I drew in it. Anyone know how to get rid of…Continue

Hey guys. I just finished the first 4 chapters of my new creation apologetics books, Strangers & Aliens, and I'm looking for beta readers! While the biggest part of the book deals with UFOs, extraterrestrials and the Bible from a YEC position, these four deal with answers to objections to science fiction itself. If you're intersted in reading the first four chapters and giving me feedback, send me an email at

Thanks...good luck with the sales!

I have it both as an Ebook and through CreateSpace as print on demand.  Uploading was easier than smashwords, a publisher I used for an earlier book, but still harder than I expected.  If you use amazon be prepared to invest some time.  Until my book sells that's all the experience I have :).

Hi your book on Amazon as an ebook? I want to sell on Amazon too, I am looking into how to sell a bound book there. How is your Amazon experience?

Hi Christina, I also am new to the group.  I have just released on amazon my novel The Deluge of Noah, an account of the preflood world from a YEC perspective.

Hi, I am new to the group. I wanted to introduce myself. I am Christina and a Christian writer. I am just about ready to publish my first book, illustrated by my associate pastor. I wrote a children's picture book called Monster War.

What have you written?

TrustJesus, building a blog is a great way to "build an audience" which is just about universal in today's book market. It's also a great place to share those extra tidbits you mentioned as well.

From what I've seen, a number of people even post their future book in bite sized chunks and have no trouble selling the full works later. It even seems to help them sell more.

I'm not sure what you mean about giving "them out to the wrong people." If you're worried about the skeptics giving you a hard time, join the club. It comes with the territory as Jesus warned us, but some of them might find Life if you're brave enough! Hope that helps. :-)

Should I post to a blog or somewhere else; I post can post pdf's based on research/writings I do at times?  I get afraid that I might give them out to the wrong people.  Any suggestions?  For example I have personal research data as well that might not ever make it to a book?  Thanks for your time.  Jesus Bless.
