Hi everyone, just wondering if any of you belong to book clubs with friends? I am thinking of writing up a list of questions for book clubs to use with my book. What do you think?

Hi Julie, I saw that you visited the Creation Museum. It is a fabulous place. I hope you enjoy your visit to the U.S. I found out there is an FBI office not far from where I live. It's not a building that gets much notice.

I have two in progress. One is a mystery, with a rather quirky protagonist. It's tons of fun, but I'm having some plot problems. So I have set it aside for the moment. Now that I have discovered there is apologetic fiction, that's my direction. I'm taking a course via internet, Christian Fiction Mentors, that is very helpful. I had written a book several years ago for my bother's kids when I was home schooling them that involved the discovery of a live pterodactyl. It was just for fun and for them, so I am using a similar idea but new setting and characters. It's more of an adventure than a mystery, and the themes, characters, and major scenes have kind of spun themselves out in front of me giving me a framework to build on.

I just started chapter 12 in "DD" and if I even look at it right now, I won't get anything done on my own book! Really really enjoying it!! And I'm trying to pace myself so it won't be over too soon! I am already looking forward to your next book!

Thanks Kate. I hope you enjoy the book! What sort of book are you writing?

Thanks, Julie. I think I won't try to submit a name. I'm having a hard enough time trying to generate names for my own book! Man, that can be tough! They seem to all sound so similar.

I am devouring your book! Excellent characterization, descriptions, action...I'm loving it! I am being forced to put it down, for the time being, because it's time to head off to the creation Bible study we host. I think I'll slide it in my book bag and recommend it to the folks.

Exciting New Contest!

Would you like the chance to have a character named after you in the next book of the Dinah Harris trilogy? You could see your name, in print in The Shadowed Mind! We are running a contest where you will have two chances to win this amazing prize.

Here is how it will work:

Two Facebook fans of Christian fiction author, Julie Cave, will have the privilege of naming a character in The Shadowed Mind, the second book in her Dinah Harris trilogy. The contest kicks off May 4th and the winners will be announced on May 27th during Mrs. Cave’s appearance at Answers in Genesis’ Creation Museum.

•The first winner will have become a Facebook fan of Julie Cave before May 4th and will have successfully invited at least one new fan.
•The second winner will be someone who becomes a Facebook fan of Julie Cave after May 4th. All new fans must report who invited them on Julie’s fan page.
•Any Facebook fan who also subscribes to the RSS feed at will be entered into the contest a second time. Please leave a comment so that we know you have done so.
To ensure you are both correctly entered, it is important that new fans post who invited them on the Facebook wall.

Don’t forget you have a second chance of winning this prize by subscribing to my blog – please leave a comment on the website to let us know you have done so.

Good luck to everyone and I look forward to announcing the winner while I’m in the USA in the next few weeks!

Hi Patty, sorry for my late reply. My little girl hasn't been well so I haven't been on the internet as much as usual! Thanks for your info re: Lorton. I actually found it so hard to find information about it! I found it had been closed but couldn't find where the inmates had gone!
Your infomation is very valuable because often, although I do as much research as possible, it's not quite the same as having the knowledge that a resident does. I actually do have some questions about D.C. for the next book and it would be really wonderful to have someone with local knowledge help me out!
I've sent a friend request to you so that I can email you - I hope that's okay! I'm glad that otherwise you enjoyed the book and thanks again for your suggestions and input!
