What is your favorite National Park? What is one feature at that park that proclaims God's Creation?

I LOVE Yellowstone National Park!  I've been there MANY times!  It is an absolutely amazing place!
My first visit to Yellowstone was when I had just graduated from high school - umm - a few years ago...(: I remember hearing a ranger talk about astonishing discoveries Mt. St. Helens revealed that affected how Yellowstone interpreted some of their features!  It caught my attention!

The Ranger was talking about Specimen Ridge at Yellowstone National Park. A series of 27 layers of petrified trees can be seen at Specimen Ridge in Yellowstone National Park. Scientists thought these were 27 different forests that grew there and were buried by volcanic eruptions.

However, due to new evidence provided by the eruption of Mt. St. Helens, They discovered that the trees in Specimen Ridge lived at the same time!
My favorite National Parks are: Yosemite, Pasayten Wilderness and Alpine Lakes! My Grandpa started me on backpacking when I was seven, just recently I have been able to keep up! I really enjoy backpacking and camping and spending time in Creation!
I also like visiting Mt St Helens! You can visit places like Johnston Ridge Observatory for free on May 18!
Yosemite looks beautiful Jeremiah! I have not been there though - would love to go someday! Do you have any pics of it? It is SO neat you backpacked w/your Grandpa! Wow! Awesome! And - neat that you can keep up now! Woo hoo!

I LOVE Mt. St. Helens! I worked there for a summer at the Seven Wonders Creation Museum! AWESOME place! Is that Mt. St. Helens in the background of your profile pic? Coo pic!

I have written a book about Mt. St. Helens that is due to be out Fall, 2010. It is primarily for kids ages 4 - 7th grade, but I think adults would enjoy it too! Thanks for your comments! (: Happy Friday!

I don't think that I've been to a National Park that we haven't enjoyed. **grin** The most recent visit was the Grand Canyon. It was stunning. The grand majesty of it all just has God's artistic mark all over it. Just think - our world could be dull and colorless, but He chose to fill it with color and beauty.
Thanks for your Reply Marine Corps Nomads! I agree w/you about National Parks! They are awesome! And - that they show off a REALLY AWESOME CREATOR!

I would like to thank your husband for his military service! (I peeked at your blog! LOVE IT!) My brother is also in the military. Please tell your husband Thank You So much for protecting our freedom! Also, thanks to your family for being "Nomads" and being in the service too (: Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

I can not say that I have a favorite National park. I've been to Yellowstone 3 times when I was in high school many moons ago. I had a bachelor Uncle who took me and my brother on road trips. My uncle was the type who would drive through, stop at the lookouts and go on. The most walking we did was to see the geysers. So, I would love to go again sometime and spend some real time there learning. Have also been to Grand Canyon once with my family when I was even younger (1974), again it was on a return trip and we had time constraints and just stopped at the overlooks. Would love to go again also, but I really want to go to Bryce canyon and Zion National Parks.
