We have had such a great year using the Answers In Genesis Science books.  I absolutely love the way they grow with children.  They are age-based through units.  So, one unit has reading appropriate for lower elementary, higher elementary and then middle school/highschool!

It is so great to know that a company can produce such great materials...and consider the cost to their customer by helping them span the use over years....not just one year!!!

We have learned so much this year about Plants, Animals and Human life.

We did one experiment with plants....we grew beans in various environments.  The ones that struck me the most...was:  One grown with light, water, oxygen...the other, water/oxygen.

The one with all three had fruit...the one without the light....it grew as tall, but did not have any fruit! What a GREAT way to share the 'light' of the truth of Jesus to my children!  I was able to show them that they will grow, but without his light, they will not bear fruit!

What science curriculum do you use? Did you have an experiment that shared Creation and the light with your family?

FUN! I'm looking forward to doing more of this fun stuff as my children get older.

We are homeschooling through a charter school program in the state of California and I want to supplement my sons' science education with God-honoring material. They are using the K12 curriculum. Do you think the AIG texts are enough? I have one going into 5th grade and another into first.

I should mention that while the K12 curriculum is a vast improvement over even the local school's GATE program class my son was in, it is essentially a secular curriculum which thankfully has a more liberal arts / western classical educational focus than I have seen, outside parochial schools. We chose this program because my wife was at first intimidated by the prospect of homeschooling and by having a curriculum already chosen and having teachers to call on when needed, she had the confidence to move forward and also it is paid for by our taxes instead of needing to come out of pocket altogether which isn't possible for us.

Love this Rebecca!

I have done some recent unit studies with the boys on Earthquakes and throughout our "Exploring God's Creation" blog series- I've got some print outs available which always include a bible verse/ lesson to go along with the science :) I'll have to post the link here for everyone soon!
