Hello fellow Creation Conversation!
I have a question that just might move us around a bit. Here I go....
A lady and I begin a discussion about evolution. She said it was ok to use the word when referring to something that has changed. I say it is not because what it implies. She even went so far as to say this: It's just not a bad word! Does he (Ken Ham) say this in Answers in Genesis? I know he (Ken Ham) teaches us not to accept the theory of evolution, but does he really teach that it is a word we should never use?
Any thoughts?
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against
the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it
obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5
Thanks!

I don't believe it is a word that you should never use. I suggest going to the web site and searching the word evolution to get Ken's comments. If this lady is using it to refer to biological changes over time, i.e. goo to you, then you should point her to the creation account. Explain to her that man is made in God's image and that Jesus came to save man. You could also explain to her about speciation which is changes to the orginal kinds. Creationists accept natural selection. Speciation makes sense in a sin corrupted world, especially after the flood. I think we have to be careful to define what we mean by evolution at the outset of a discussion. When we do this we start on common understanding.
I hope this helps : )
