I have come to believe that atheism is a choice and not a deterministic result of following science or going "where the evidence leads." So, for the atheists or agnostics perusing this forum, why…Continue

Who are we? Spirit/Soul/Body

I know what scripture says. You seem to be reading a different book though. It's why I asked.

Were we supposed to just agree with you without testing the things you say? Truth can stand up to scrutiny. You've failed to produce anything resembling a defense. You just insist we take your word for it.

Look at that. You're actually right about something. It's an interpretation. It seems pretty clear from my angle.

I love the idea of being lectured at by someone who failed his degree. Who says that there is no such thing as a fact. Who spends months explaining to me that theory always precedes observation, then carefully explains how the theory was derived…

The ansswer to your dilema is simple Magaret. If you disagree with my "interpretation" of Popper or Kuhn all you have to do is tell me ewhere I misinterpret them or simply show where their argument is invalid.   You also create a…

That's just it, it's not baseless. The basis for the claim is Karl Popper and Thomas Kuhn. I use capital letters to help catch your eye so that you actually read it as my experience with you is that you are skilled at glossing over an…

Alexander, does your claim count double because you used upper case? Or is that your standard response when you're losing an argument? If I reply in bold upper case, does that trump your upper case? Even you must be aware that your claim cannot…

Magaret, your example is truly irrelevant. It's equivalent to saying that Copernicus saw an apple fall before Newton and Aristotle saw an apple fall before either of them therefore observations precede theory. It's irrelevant whether…

Alexander, I don't have your talent for stringing lots of long words into meaningless sentences, so let me illustrate with an example. When I say that Brahe's observations preceded Kepler's theory, that is a documented fact. When…

How about the fact that Brahe's observations preceded Kepler's theory? Pretty straightforward, an undeniable fact, a fact that destroys your ridiculous position, a fact that you repeatedly ignore. Simply repeating "theory before…

Alexander, it comes as no surprise at all that you can completely fail in your self-appointed task, yet still write a post that makes it sound as though you have succeeded. But as we've noted before, facts do not really figure in your view of…

Why? The answer I gave at the end of my comment was that
I wanted to remind myself and others that the purpose of such a forum as this is to seek the truth and that in doing so we need to work together in unity. It is simply a statement of the foundation rules that I attempt to follow. It would be meaningless to do anything but seek the truth and we will glorify the Lord in our unity. Thanks for agreeing with me. -:)

Hi Alexander,
Working together in unity we can uplift each other and work together to reach the world with the truth, the Gospel of Christ.

A good starting place is John 8:32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." The world of course asks "What is truth?" (John 18:38) The answer is given in John 17:17 "... Your word is truth"

Concerning unity Jesus says in John 17:21 "... that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that You sent Me."

I say the above to remind myself that as Christians we start with a recognition of the authority of the Scriptures and that we as brothers and sisters in Christ work together in unity that the world might believe and accept the Truth.
