Replying to Atheist's Question: sex in heaven?

Had a long talk with an Atheist friend of mine.  Now, I can handle all of the creation, evolution, science, facts/assumptions, etc apologetics.  I can handle most of the theology.  But He stumped me.…Continue

It is hard to analyse Heaven through our fallen lense.  I don't think we will even be concerned about sex when we get there, to be honest.

Kaitlin's points are excellent. To live joyfully with one's mate is part of the life of this vanity, UNDER THE SUN - that is while on earth (Eccl. 9:9). Considering the purpose of this gift of God was for reproduction, to fill up the…

Yes, there will be sex and marriage in heaven. It will be better though with no problems or stds. There will be perfect love, and it will be like an eternal orgasm.

My guess is concealed words are waiting for some appointed time. Like Jesus would say " his time is not yet."Then He would say " the time has come".

It is understandable that "worshiping God in His presence" would be a boring answer that a non-Christian would have trouble relating to, but that is what we'll do in Heaven. Quite frankly, for me, it's 'nough said. And so I…

It seems to me we will have far more pleasurable things to do in heaven than having sex.  Heaven will be far more enjoyable than anything we can even imagine in this cursed world.  I believe there will be no sex in heaven, and we…

It's difficult to use this fallen world to compare the world to come.   For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Mat 22:30. For when they shall rise from the dead, they…

D.L. Moody said that there were a good many people that wouldn't like it in heaven.  That's sad, because they sure won't like it where they're going.

A missionary once said "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose" (I think it was Jim Elliot).   The atheists concerns don't make much sense because even under his own worldview, he can't…

Greetings!

I have greatly been looking for something like this and am excited to have found it. A little about me.

First, I grew up a "Christian". Though I considered myself a Christian before, I believed in a Theistic Evolution. My resulting "faith" that I called "Christian" was anything but Christian; all the names were the same, but non of the teachings. I could pretty much do as I wanted. I grew so sick of creationists who couldn't answer a single question I proposed, that I decided to research evolution in depth so instead of simply asking questions the Creationist couldn't answer (or at least the ones I had been arguing with), I would have the smoking gun to quiet them for good. After all science had proven evolution, right? So it had to be there, right? It took a few years, but finally God showed me it was myself who was wrong and not Him.

I now am a devoted Creationist. No, actually, that isn't quite correct. I am a devoted Biblical Literalist meaning except where the Scriptures are obviously not speaking literally (ie parables or "(fill in the blank) is like..."), I take God at His Word and believe what He says. To paraphrase Martin Luther, even if I don't totally understand it, I acknowledge that God is more learned than I.

I have been praying for years to either be a part of a full-time ministry or preferably, to start my own. My idea is a Family and child oriented play place where kids can run, play, climb, jump and crawl through activities, but all with a Christian and dinosaur theme. It will also have a hands-on area where they can learn about creation and hear the things they are not taught in school on evolution. You can see more, as well as read several articles that I have written and a scale model of the ark of Noah that I constructed on my webpage: http://www.HaveYouNotRead.com

I also have a blog at http://youdonthavetohaveaphd.blogspot.com/ which attempts to explain the reasons why evolution doesn't fit the evidence in simple to understand terms. Some people simply acquiesce to the scientist because, well, they are scientists. I attempt to show that science is not that difficult and anyone can understand enough of the basics to be able to think for themselves.

Finally, I have also written a book. It is a Christmas devotional for the 25 days of December that lead up to Christmas. Each day's devotional is based off of a popular Christmas carol and presents each song in a new light that shines the glory on God and the true meaning of Christmas. It is titled, "Let Heaven and Nature Sing' and you can find it here: http://tinyurl.com/LetHeavenAndNatureSing.

In His service... Arthur Smith

Oh, as a P.S., for something fun about me, I have the strangest hobby. I am also a jousting "knight" at Renaissance Faires and other events. Yes, I fall off a Clydesdale for fun (Okay, its really the reaction of the kids that make it fun...). You can see "Sir Arthur" at www.joustevolution.net.

I recently watched a DVD by Carl Kerby. In it he said that he and his

son play a game with movies and TV shows they call 'Spot the

Evolution". Whenever you watch Movies and TV, make it a game to find

the bits of 'evolution' in them. Then post them here: The Spot the Evolution Game…

Welcome Arthur, I will look forward to exploring your sites you have listed, and getting to know you. I especially like your goal of reaching children/youth with the Creation Message. Our church is looking for a youth pastor, and I have been praying that God will send someone with a burden for the Creation message. I have been conversing with two atheists on Eric Hovind's facebook and you could be a big help to me and others since you were an evolutionist at one time. Thanks for joining. God bless. I will be praying for you.
