Removing the “Tree” to See the forest.

Posted on July 24, 2010 at 3:56pm 0 Comments

When you go to a natural history museum or in other media you will see a lot of trees, evolutionary trees that is. They are called cladistic trees or simply cladograms. The cladograms are arranged by homology (similar aspects) and can vary depend on what criteria the person creating the tree wants to feature. Similarities of features are also found in designed objects, due to similar functions or…

Kevin, we love Gary and Mary Parker from the Creation Museum in Arcadia, FL - they Rock! (pun intended) :) They taught us about fossils and how to dig for them in the Peace River!! We live only 30 min from them- I want to go see them again this year! It's been awhile - I was a homeschool newbie when I met them & now I have 3 school age boys! It was 4 years ago. Are you going any time soon?

Kevin,
I have heard of the Creation Science Association for Mid-America! Thank you for asking. You reminded me that I hadn't seen the newsletter in a while. I decided to switch to E-mail delivery. I'll spend some more time on the csama.org site--I haven't been there for some time. Real Scientists Just Say NO! (To Evolution) by Tom Willis (who came to speak at one of my classes a few years ago) provided a significant portion of the foundation of my now, certain hope in Christ. Though I was found by Christ and yielded my life to Him at the age of 14 it took nearly two decades of studying Scripture, evolution, and materials like RSJSN(tE) to shake off my faulty world view and truly trust His Word. Now, I'm just working on obedience. ;-)

Thank you for writing! I have not heard of CSA so I am glad you brought them to my attention. I still wish there was something in Des Moines, but KC is a lot closer than KY! I have sent them an email, but not sure if it went through (at least one of the two addresses failed) and I am interested in the Western Kansas Chalk and Fossil trip, but have to see if I am jousting that weekend. But I am definitely interested in finding out and doing what I can. Thank you again!
