Coal reserves - how did they get to where they are?

I have some pretty smart kids in my Sunday School class, and they ask some very difficult questions. For example, coal reserves are very localised, yet the amount of coal implies that most of the…Continue

Margaret replied to Rachel Hefner's discussion 'When exactly did the scientific shift between creation and evolution happen?'
A very impressive list, Alexander. I must remember to ask my dentist about her views on the age of the earth next time I visit. Have any of these scientists published papers on the age of the earth in any respected peer-reviewed science journals?

The original phrase used was 'credible scientists'. A theology professor is not a scientist. A hydraulic engineer is not a scientist, in fact the only connection is liquids. On that basis, the opinions of the lady who serves the coffee at…

Carolyn, do a hydraulic engineer and a theology professor count as credible scientists in the fields of cosmology / geology / biology / archaeology, etc? And what is the connection between being a Christian and believing or not believing in a young…

Who are these "credible scientists", and what are they saying?

Is that a fact? Oh no, sorry, there's no such thing.

I love the idea of being lectured at by someone who failed his degree. Who says that there is no such thing as a fact. Who spends months explaining to me that theory always precedes observation, then carefully explains how the theory was derived…

So your interpretation of someone else's interpretation of the scientific method is supposed to have some sort of validity? You think that just because you have read and partially understood the first few pages of a book with an…

Alexander, does your claim count double because you used upper case? Or is that your standard response when you're losing an argument? If I reply in bold upper case, does that trump your upper case? Even you must be aware that your claim cannot…

Alexander, I don't have your talent for stringing lots of long words into meaningless sentences, so let me illustrate with an example. When I say that Brahe's observations preceded Kepler's theory, that is a documented fact. When…

How about the fact that Brahe's observations preceded Kepler's theory? Pretty straightforward, an undeniable fact, a fact that destroys your ridiculous position, a fact that you repeatedly ignore. Simply repeating "theory before…

Alexander, it comes as no surprise at all that you can completely fail in your self-appointed task, yet still write a post that makes it sound as though you have succeeded. But as we've noted before, facts do not really figure in your view of…

Alexander, you're really flying now! You've finally admitted you've lost the argument on theory vs observation by changing the terminology.  So hypotheses can follow observation, but not theories. Brilliant! You're not the…

Alexander, you have beaten your own record! You have contradicted yourself within the space of a single paragraph! "He had to conjecture and refute several other models BEFORE he stumbled on the correct one that wasn't refuted by his…

But Brahe didn't accept it. He believed the earth was at the centre of the solar system. It's a valid point that you completely ignored earlier. Also, it is completely irrelevant. All you need is a telescope and a way to measure angles.…

No, it isn't that obvious. That's why Brahe had to spend several decades making the measurements. Without a paradigm.

Dear fellow Creationist,

I found you as a member here at creationconversations.com, where I'm also a member.

Here at creationconversations.com, I have created a group called 'Creation Group Europe', hoping that this could be a virtual meetingplace for European Creationists. Here we can discuss matters that relate to Europe, Creationism, Apologetics etc.

If you also have these matters on your heart, you are more than welcome to join the group :-)

Kind Regards in Christ

Magaret,

In case you didn't read the statement of faith and rules of engagement on this forum, there are a few things you should know.  This site was designed for people who accept the Bible as the inerrant, inspired Word of God.  This includes the Genesis narratives of a six day creation and a global flood, occuring a few thousand years ago.  It is not for debating about the truth of Scripture or whether or not the supernatural creation and flood really happened.

We love to discuss important issues related to creation, but this is not the site to fellowship with people who disagree with our faith.  If a member is disruptive or causes others to doubt their faith, it is the duty of other members to report that issue to the moderators.

Why would your Sunday school kids ask you questions skeptical of a global flood if you don't even believe or actually teach it in your class? It sounds like the only questions you would get would be questions about what evidence there is to support a global flood since you teach against it and don't believe it.
