After school program possibilities

Looking for examples of successful after school programs with Christian content.  I was thinking of discussions, fellowship, teaching, apologetics and such.  Aren't after school programs often informal recreational instead?  Would some students want Christian thinking after a secular school day?See More

actually, Hunter's book sounds pretty good to me. More of an intro to the foundational scientific, philosophical, and theological problems with evolution, whether totally naturalistic or theistic. Obviously, the seminary students have to get back to their Hebrew parsing of Genesis 1-3 to get the best picture of what happened, and why it is true. I don't think this will lead the students away from YEC, but they do need the YEC teachings to be the logical conclusion of what Hunter is talking about.

Mary, I am generally favorable to Paul Maier and his materials. Has been a frequent guest on Issues Etc and Hank Hanegraaf's program. Wonder where that "epilogue" came from, if Maier didn't write it? And if he didn't, why wouldn't Maier have made sure that CPH published an epilogue that affirmed YEC principles. Can't get the link about the "Framework Theory" book to show up. I'll have to ask our associate pastor on this, he is a St Louis grad, and a staunch Young Earther. BTW, while the Lutheran Study Bible is a bit open-ended on the age of the earth, the comments in Gen1-3 are pretty overwhelmingly in favor of a young earth, and no mention of evolutionary events millions or billions of years before Adam. Have wrestled with some of these different theories, and have come to the conclusion that YEC is the only view that fits consistently with the narrative of Genesis 1-3, which presents itself as a chronological historical narrative. Pastor Tom, along with research into such OEC "creationists" as Hugh Ross, have led me to see how problematic the old earth "progressive" creation view is. especially with a narrower definition of the Fall (only Adam and Eve, not the whole creation), and millions of years of suffering and death in the animal kingdom before Adam ate that apple!
