Stupid Desert People

Whenever talking about the Bible with a skeptic I often get the old fashion "I don't believe in a book written by ancient stupid desert people" line. And though I many approaches for handling this…Continue

"Yes, I agree. Just because Genesis doesn't mention specific atmospheric activity prior to the flood, doesn't mean that activity was not happening. Absence of evidence in Genesis is not evidence of absence. What I think we need to specify…"

Matthew Parker replied to Jim Brenneman's discussion 'Pre-Flood Catastrophes' in the group Geology Talk
"In my opinion there would have to be a degree of rainstorms, thunder, lightning, ect because those anomalies are the results of atmospheric activity. Which by simple law of physics would have to have taken place prior to the flood. Now I think the…"

"Mountains formed at the end of the flood, and in the centuries following in different ways - some were large sections of crust buckling upward, others we areas of land being pleated or folded while still in a plastic state, and then too there are…"

Tim Helble replied to Matthew Parker's discussion 'Differences in mountain erosion'
"Hi Mathew and Colin, It's actually a much more complicated situation than you might initially think.  For one, there are places in the Sierras which receive more average annual precipitation than any place in the Appalachians (See map…"

Describe your interest in joining the community
Hello, my name is Matt and I've been a Christian for 5 years, but only accepted a Creationist perspective 2 years after becoming Christian. I was raised in So Cal, and am moving to Central Cal in a month, naturally because of the demographics here the majority of people I associate with are not Christian, and even those that are have very liberal and compromising beliefs. My hope is to learn as much about the authenticity of the creation account because I believe it is one of the major factors that turns people off to Christ.
