Do you think this sci-fi book should come with a study guide?

A lot of Christian books, nonfiction and fiction alike, are coming out with study guides [even if it's just a free PDF you can optionally download]  Is this something you look for in a book? Do you think it's beneficial? Do you think anyone cares? I can see how Johnny Came Home might stir some discussion on racism, evolution, and several teen-related issues, but would you do this for a sci-fi novel? -TonySee More

Johnny Came Home

What if there were superheroes among us? Would they represent the next stage of human evolution, as many comic books, movies and television shows suggest? Or might there be a different explanation? What would a world of men and women with superpowers mean for Biblical Christianity? Find out more in Johnny Came Home by Tony Breeden, an action-packed novel full of mad scientists, zombies, flying saucers, future technology, conspiracy theories, epic battles and Biblical truth!  See More

Who Needs A Superhero? Finding Virtue, Vice, and What’s Holy in the Comics by H. Michael Brewer – Baker Books (2004)

Posted on May 25, 2012 at 8:27pm 0 Comments

Few books in Christendom are wrapped around as brilliant a concept as this one. Within the pages of Who Needs A Superhero?, author H. Michael Brewer takes his love and knowledge of comic book superheroes and explores some key doctrines of the faith. Surprisingly, this book is neither fluff nor boring.

Through Superman, he gives us a modern re-telling…

Unwrapping the Pharaohs: How Egyptian Archaeology Confirms the Biblical Timeline by John Ashton & David Downs, Master Books (2006)

Posted on May 25, 2012 at 8:15pm 0 Comments

Egyptian chronology simply doesn’t confirm the Bible, but there is an excellent reason for this. Egyptian chronologies contain inflated lifespans for their god-kings and do not take into account Eusebius’ statement that “several Egyptian kings ruled at the same time… It was not a succession of kings occupying the throne one after the other, but several kings reigning at the same…

Hi Tony,

Just been to your blog. Great idea to start the Creation Letter and request for signatures to counter Zimmerman's Clergy Letter. I was encouraged to see so many have signed on and really enjoyed the various comments made. It was pleasing to note that Christians from mothers to scientists are giving their support to this. Well done for taking the initiative and setting up the Creation Letter.

Hi Tony
Thanks for inviting me to be your friend. I have just browsed your page and like what I see. I believe we share similar ideas re creation etc. I would like to respond to some of the issues you've raised but am a bit tied up at the moment.
F.Y.I - I am a geotechnologist by profession but pastor at my local Church of Christ. Here in Zimbabwe we don't have the privelege of many of the books and literature (on creation or science for that matter) that you have in the US. I do quite a bit of web browsing to gen myself up on what's happening and current in the world today particularly concerning the evolution/creation debate. It's one of the reasons I joined Creation Conversation, and I'm glad I did. Write to you later.

Thanks Tony, I haven't been comming here much because I get to much argument form "Christians". It seems like I get it nomatter what I say. Not whining, just a little tired of it. I have also been a little to straight forward with one or two people. Have thought about just staying on facebook. I truly want to share, but not this way. I believe with all my heart that we're so very close to His return for the church. And to tell you the truth thats all I care about. At least as far as the mission I believe I've been given. So, at the very least I won't be around much. Thank you for the request. God bless
