Point of Contact

The Bible points to vast difference that unbelievers and believers have. How then can we witness to unbelievers? If there are so many differences, how can we witness to them? Is it possible to have some point of a contact with someone who is of a different faith, or perhaps no faith at all? The answer is yes. God created all things and everything must serve Him. Christians have been brought out of darkness into God’s marvelous light. There is no neutral common ground between the believer and…

Ark Attack!

Ken Ham just published an article on his interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper.  In the interview, Ham's faith and the Ark Project in Northern Kentucky were attacked by a member of the Body of Christ (or, at least, someone who claims to be a member).  The…

The Case Of The Missing Mountain

I'm the editor of the Baptist Trumpet, the weekly publication of the Baptist Missionary Association of Arkansas. We have a circulation of about 11,500. This is the review of Mrs. Jones' book that will appear in this week's issue of our newspaper:

The Case Of The Missing Mountain

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m very weak in the area of science. As a matter of fact, the only “D” I ever made in school was in Biology. (It was the grading period…

Global Warming Predictions

This article features predictions made by climate scientists that have all failed to come true. Yet many global warming alarmists hold to the position that if you reject their claims, you aren’t scientific and you don’t understand science.

Many of the quotes are decades old and their failure to come true could be explained by…

Celebrate a Creation Sunday This February 13, 2011 - Not An Evolution Sunday!

In 2006, atheist Dr Michael Zimmerman first encouraged churches to preach Darwin from their pulpits on the Sunday worship service nearest Charles Darwin's birthday. 467 churches allegedly participated in his first Evolution Sunday. Granted, there were a fair number of cults tossed in with legitimate Christian denominations and nearly all were churches from liberal, mainline denominations at that. Nevertheless, the number of congregations participating grew to 618 in 2007.

Entertainment Buzz

I love Jurassic Park.  Yes, I'm aware that it's an athiestic, shameless bit of evolutionary propaganda, but I still love the film.  Like most little boys (and even most little girls, I think!), dinosaurs fascinated me like nothing else.  Ankylosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops . . . they were all awesome.  I still have my two or three dozen dinosaur toys somewhere in my attic, in fact.

So I read both books, watched all three movies, and I was enthralled.  Dinosaurs…

In Translation, Pt. 3

What do we do when source documents contradict themselves or are unclear?  What do we do when we can't know for sure what an author originally intended?  How, then, do we convey information accurately?

As always, let's start with a non-Biblical example and then move into the Scriptures.  I have a friend who was born in another country and moved here to America when he was in his mid-twenties.  What's interesting about my friend is that he is unsure about how old he…
