But You Said...

Those of you with children will know this all to well. Your children ask you if they can play with something and your response is, “No, you can not play with that right now. I will let you know when you can.” However, what one child has just heard is this, “You can right now play with that.”  And when you enter the room and see your child playing with it, you proceed to pull your hair out as you reminisce about Bill Cosby speaking of “brain damage.” You ask your child, “What part of what I…

Was The Flood Global?

It has always been really frustrating to me that this subject must even be discussed among fellow believers. To be honest, I would rather argue with naturalists and whether there was even a flood at all. That seems to be a more fruitful argument. It just drives me crazy that a discussion among Christians concerning whether the flood was global or local must be had. The folks at Reasons to Believe have long held to a local…

Length of a Day

Oh boy, I’ve opened up a can of worms with this one. This has to be one of the top five controversial topics within Biblical interpretation today and sadly, among Christians. What was the length of the day as described in Genesis? Was it a literal 24 hour day? Are we to interpret a day in Genesis in such a way as to assume a day is just a general period of time? If we interpret the days of Genesis to be equal to millions of years, what ramifications does that have on the rest of the Bible?…

Teach Creation Thursday~ Does Distant Starlight Prove the Universe Is Old?

Time is the essential ingredient of evolution. If the universe and the earth are not billions of years old, evolution has nothing to base its ideas on. Evolutionists believe that distant starlight proves the universe is very old. Dr. Jason Lisle discusses the assumptions that have to be made to answer “yes” to this…

HAVE YOU GIVEN THEM A REASON TO ASK?

The cornerstone apologetic verse (1 Peter 3:15) has been on my mind a lot lately. I have been just “chewing” on the words of that verse many times over. Largely, it’s because of hearing so many people pull a piece of it out of context and fling it around haphazardly. What piece? “…be ready already always to give an answer…” If you have seen the recent Gospel tracts I have put out, you will see the little saying…

Great For God Book Club {Chapters 10 & 11}

Teaching Creation Thursdays ~ Noah's Ark and The Flood

The story of Noah's Ark and The Flood has always fascinated me.  It is a story of righteousness, redemption, and also a story of destruction and the result of sin. It isn't just a cute little story of a man building a boat and saving animals by having two of every kind come on the boat while it rained a little bit.

Indeed,…
