What is a Day?

Recently I heard the argument that you cannot take the Genesis account of creation as a literal 6-24 hour day event. The base argument for this is the sun was not created until day 4, therefore the “days” of creation cannot be literal days. First of all, I find it hard to understand why this person uses the literal forth day of creation to prove that the 6-24 hour days of creation is not literal? Well, never mind the logical fallacy being…

How The Study Of Extinction Is A Problem For Evolution Theory

Each year, sadly, may species become extinct. This can then have a wide reaching effect and lead to the extinction of other species.  This point was highlighted in a study by R.T. Paine of an intertidal community of 15 species in Mukkaw Bay in the U.S, where the top predator was a…

The Ecology Book Giveaway & Our Wildlife Wed experience

Not to worry, we made it through the experience unharmed, and so did he. It can be dangerous when dealing with an animal who has lost its fear of humans. Well, when they have claws and teeth, anyway. Teaching our children to…

The Mystery of Fight or Flight

Most of us have had a fright are some stage. I can remember running along a path and suddenly seeing a snake just in front of me. Without thinking, my legs suddenly hurled me into the air and I jumped right over the snake to safety. The common flight or flight response of mammals involves an amazing interconnected mechanism.

When danger is sensed, the nervous system of the mammal causes cells in the adrenal medulla on…
