I've noticed that creation oriented ministries seem to be presbyopic (able to see far away but not close). They seem to have a handle on the fallacy of evolution (to a degree), but do not see the huge theological problems in the modern church. Perhaps this is because their income is largely from association with the modern church organizations. Let me explain further.

I wonder if a number of animals fill the same biological niche in different places over the earth:
From a creation perspective this is a neutral: either go with the easy solution and use one animal for the niche, wherever it is located OR because you can create a new animal for each geographical locale and the same niche.
For evolution this would be a positive argument: Animals evolve in geographical locales to fill all available niches.
Usually the way to interpret a text honestly is to understand the intention of the writer and an honest approach seems to be "how did the listeners at that time understand what was said". I just listened to a lecture on Genesis from that viewpoint.
