I find it surprising that nobody seems to think to look at history when they ask the question, "Where do we come from?"  I mean, isn't that an obvious place to look?  It turns out that there is a lot of consistency between the ancient texts.  They point to the same men as Genesis does as the foundation of humanity.  Sure, they give them different names, as you would expect would happen after a confusion of languages, and the accounts diverge with time, but the big names - the ones at the top are consistent between people groups.  Many of them even say that their nation was formed out of dirt.  For more information, see

It is strange that people won't see the obvious support for the Biblical record in history.  When we study ancient accounts, we see plenty of examples of people migrating from the "Fertile Crescent".  Take the ancestors of the vikings, for example.  According to at least one medieval source, they moved to northern Europe from an area slightly north of Ararat.  When you get farther from the area the original source of the immigrants is lost, but they still come into an area instead of just evolving there.

Settle down. I'm not that special. You can be anything you want to be (within reason). We become like those we emulate. Don't look to me alone for guidance. Jesus is the perfect role model. Be excited when you meet Him.
