Teaching Creation Thursday~ A Fossil Float Trip

Dr. Carolyn Reeves shares a little bit of her experience and then shares with us a little information regarding the Fossil Float Trip.

Every spring Tom DeRosa and the staff from Creation Studies Institute lead expeditions on fossil float trips on the Peace River near Arcadia, Florida.  Fossils from sharks and whales are common, but there are frequent finds of fossils of Ice Age animals, such as woolly mammoths, saber-tooth cats, and giant sloths.  The staff gives instructions about how and where to look and helps everyone identify their fossils finds.

A few years ago, I had the privilege of taking my daughter, granddaughter and grandson on one of these trips. We had a wonderful time and came home with a sack full of really neat fossils. Our prize find was a shiny black megalodon shark tooth. Other participants on the trip found several fossil remains of Ice Age animals.

The trip confirmed and cemented what we believe about a worldwide Flood in a dramatic way. Even today, my grandchildren are able to state their beliefs about Creation and the Flood in a very self-confident way.

If you are interested in learning more about a fossil float trip, see the following information. Registration fees are $75.00 for adults and $65.00 for children. For more details, see www.creationstudies.org or call (954) 771-1652 or (800) 882-0278

Here is a little more information about what you can expect from this amazing adventure.

Ice Age Fossil Adventure

When was the last time you had a chance to get away from the noise of the city and focus your thoughts on God and His creation? CSI gives you the opportunity to do just that every year on our amazing Fossil Float expeditions!

What is a Fossil Float?
It is an exciting adventure canoeing and digging for fossils.
If you have ever panned for gold you know that the findings are few and far between. However, if you pan for fossils in the Peace River, you strike pay dirt every time!

This area of Florida, rich with phosphates, is known as a Fossil Graveyard. Over the last decade we have taken over 10,000 people, young and old, down the Peace River, where they have learned that there is substantial evidence of a world-wide flood as recorded in the Bible. How else would you explain the findings of Whale Vertebra, or teeth of the Megalodon shark that would grow as large as 70 feet in length, in a river that is located some 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico?

The findings of the Woolly Mammoth, Saber-tooth Cat and the Giant Sloth, gives affirmation to the bible reference of an ice age.

What you will learn:
You will learn how to identify fossils, and make the connection to God as the creator. You will also learn to canoe and enjoy each other as you frolic in the cool waters together.

We end our exciting weekend adventure with a BBQ on Saturday evening. Happy faces fill the room as the finds are identified and the prizes are given for the most unique find, the most of one kind, and the largest and most complete fossils found.

Sunday is given to worship
We thank God for His goodness and His beautiful creation with a Sunday morning worship service. Our new found friends receive the ability to refute evolutionary teachings and go on to proclaim God as our Creator.
