I must throw this out: It seems that the US has been systematically humiliated these last years, by its own president and this because it was the most openly christian country left on the earth.

I do not know if I am able to recognize utter abominations walking or placing themselves in the holy places, from the end time signs but the feeling is that this is it. Sorry for the US and my own country but looking forward to the end years and coming of God to set things right.

Not so much about genesis but I do not have that many christians to discuss with elsewhere.

Thanks Charles. I often feel that my thoughts and beliefs are a little muddled, because I have changed my mind several times in regards to Bible-based beliefs and I don't always know whether I'm being consistent; I suppose that every believer must adjust from time to time as the Spirit reveals things from the Word of God.

That, Steven, is exactly right.  Revelation reveals two judgments, the first is on works, which we all know we will fail.  The second is based on whether or not our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life, which is based - I believe - on whether or not we trust in the nature of God (love, as expressed through Jesus) and our own nature (sinful).  I am utterly convinced that the Gospel hinges on those two parts:  God loves us, even though we don't deserve it.

I think we all recognize that the USA has been moving away from the good news of Jesus the Messiah, both intentionally and unintentionally for decades. Building on the false foundations of Man's reasoning and evil influences of pagan superstition lead to ruin.

However, as much as I believe there are principles that, when violated lead to destruction, I also think that Jesus died for all of our sins and took the judgment. I think it is sad for people to say "God did it" every time something horrible happens. It is true that we have several instances of God destroying cities and whole nations for their evil and for hurting His people. We must remember that this was before the Messiah came to be the perfect sacrifice. However, He is long-suffering (as evidenced by His merciful tarrying with the USA and other nations which abuse His saints) and on this basis Jesus tells us believers to show mercy to others.

I believe that the tragedies and catastrophes that people endure now are (for the most part) evidence of man's sinful rebellion. on the other hand, people are still coming to believe in Jesus and we see how God has established the nation of Israel in spite of enormous odds. So, yes, like Carl I think this is an exciting time!

I believe that now, when Jesus comes back to rule that the world will be judged for NOT BELIEVING in Jesus, not merely for their sins, because God's grace is plentiful to forgive if they will come to Him in repentance and realize His love for them.

"God abases the proud, but gives grace to the humble." The American nation, the govt, and many American people are very puffed up and have turned from God. The do not give glory to God for hardly anything. They ask for his blessing in their speeches, but live their lives in hypocrisy.

God has been humbling this nation and it is heading toward His holy judgment; a temporal judgment of punishment for turning from the true gospel of our forefathers to fables taught by Billy Graham and most preacher/false prophets of today. The only safe place, my pastor and friend told me, is "in Christ." There is no hiding place for those who reject and turn away from God in the coming judgment on this nation. Those who preach false gospels, both in churches and in govt. (teaching the worship of the state instead of God) will face death and eternal destruction.

This is NOT to be confused with the future judgment that will come on this earth before and when Christ comes. Germany, Japan, and Italy were heavily judged in WWII, Israel was judged in 70 AD, and many other nations have faced the judgment of God to punish them for their wickedness. America is facing the same kind of judgment for the murder of over 58 million babies and the damning of millions of children's souls by preventing them from coming to Jesus in public schools. And don't we remember Sodom and Gomorrah? Are we any better? No, we are worse, as we have rejected the true gospel and taken up Satan's banner of false Christianity and secular communism in the govt.
