"Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him."It happens all the time. I ask someone if they've heard of the pro-evolution Clergy Letter Project founded by atheist Dr Michael Zimmerman, the one that's been signed by over 12,500 liberal Christian clergy affirming evolution as scientific truth while denigrating the first eleven chapters of the revealed Word of God to mere "teaching stories" like Aesop's Fables. Most of the time, they've never heard of it. They express shock and outrage at this affront to Biblical authority, to this challenge to the historical veracity of God's infalllible Word. Sometimes they've heard of it and the sour expression that accompanies the admission lets you kow they don't approve of Zimmerman's pet project. And I know ministers and even Creation speakers who are fully committed to Biblical Creation and Catastrophism who've voiced support for what this ministry is trying to do to counter the impact of the Clergy Letter through CreationLetter.com.
"How Long Will Ye Halt Between Two Opinions?"
But what they fail to do is to follow through with their convictions. They forget to add their signature to the Creation Letter, the Biblical Creationist response to atheist Dr Michael Zimmerman's pro-evolution Clergy Letter Project. They have the opportunity to make a stand for the historical veracity of God's Word in Genesis, to make a bold declaration that these clergy who've signed Zimmerman's letter of compromise do not speak for Christendom, but they do not take advantage of the opportunity. So Zimmerman then claims that the signatures on his pro-evolution letter speak on behalf of the majority of Christians, and that only a small but vocal minority of fundamentalists espouse the Biblical view of special Creation as recorded in Genesis.
But you can still do something about it!
I'm speaking specifically to clergy here. The current scoreboard [if you will] has it at Biblical CreationLetter.com Clergy sigantures versus compromising pro-evolution Clergy Letter Project signatures: 63 to 12,520 [as of 4/15/2010].
Read that again.
63 to 12,520!
" And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken."Only 63 clergy will stand for the historical truth of God's Word, despite the fact that there are many, many other pastors, preachers, evangelists, missionaries, Sunday school teachers and Creation speakers who do in fact believe that the heavens and the earth were created in six calendar days, that there was a literal Adam and Eve and that the world was judged by a worldwide Flood in the days of Noah. Imagine if they added their signatures today to blunt the impact of this atheist's pet project! Zimmerman knows what would happen if this thing really took off!

"A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first."
