Joshua,

There was a much more involved discussion of these issues on a thread in the forum: http://www.creationconversations.com/xn/detail/4344648:Topic:14680 and more recently taken up under
http://www.creationconversations.com/forum/topics/titus-310-heretic... - I would recommend you take a look at the first discussion for an understanding of the whole KJV only position.

Will, I welcome the continued debate, but you seem to be silent on my final point.

Hi Joshua, thanks for getting back.  You say you haven't noticed glaring differences to question if the Bible is the inspired word of God, and you say you use the KJB, NIV and NKJV.  Brother, there are huge differences both in the texts used and in the translations and meanings in hundreds of verses.  My website if full of examples.  Let me give you a few links to look at, and then let me know what you think.

Are the Bible versions 99% the same?  Not at all.

As for the NKJV, did you actually look at the links I provided the first time?  They are still up there.  Just read through some of the examples.  It is a FACT that most Christians today do not believe that any Bible in any language is the infallible words of God, and it is going to get worse.

God bless,

Hey Will,

Thanks for responding and I apologize for not responding sooner. This is the first I have checked CC since I wrote you last.

This sounds very ignorant of me, but I have to admit that I haven't ever heard this debate or felt convicted (through my own personal relationship with Christ, prayer, Bible study) to question whether one translation is correct and the others are incorrect. I haven't noticed glaring differences in my own study that have led me to stray from my view of Gods Word (as I do believe the Bible to be the true inspired word of God) or caused me to question whether it is truly the inspired Word of God. I do know that some seem a bit "washed down" and I typically stay away from most translations besides the King James Version, NIV, or NKJV.

This is interesting though and definitely something I would enjoy reading more about. Are you saying that because you feel other translations (besides KJV) have changed/left out words, it can/has caused people to question the Bible and they seem to have more contradictions?

Why do you feel that the KJV is more accurate than the others? Is it because the others came after?

Thanks for fielding my questions!

God Bless!

Joshua posts: "I'm confused on where you stand Will? Are you saying you don't believe the Bible can't be trusted or are you simply pointing out others believe that?"

Hi Joshua.  Thanks for the question. I am solidly a King James Bible believer and it is my conviction that unless a person is a King James Bible onlyist  - it is the ONLY  complete, inspired and 100% historically true Bible and Standard by which all others are to be measured.  I am not saying that a person has to be KJB only to be saved.  The gospel is still found in any bible version out there, no matter how messed up it might be in so many other ways.  But what I am saying is that bible versions like the NIV, NASB, ESV, NET and even the NKJV are bogus bibles that omit thousands of God inspired words, change the meaning of hundreds of verses and teach false doctrine.  They are leading the way to the widespread unbelief in the Infallibility of the Bible so prevalent among Christians today.

Let's take you for an example, OK?  Do you yourself believe that ANY Bible in ANY language IS or ever was the complete, inspired and 100% true words of God?  Yes, No, I don't know, or Who cares anyway?

If Yes, then please tell us where we can get a copy of it so we can compare it to whatever we are reading now to see the differences and similarities.

If you think it is the NKJV, then you might want to consider the following articles I have put together from my own studies on this most important issue.

People usually avoid this conversation because they do not want to face the fact that they do not believe that any Bible IS the infallible words of God.

What do you think?

Will Kinney

There are not just "supposed" contradictions in the Bible Babble Buffet versions out there.  There are very real and direct contradictions with literally thousands of words either omitted or allegedly "added to" the various versions, none of which agree 100% in either text or meaning with any other.  It is a simple and undeniable fact that most Christians today do not believe that ANY Bible in ANY language IS or ever was the preserved and 100% historically true words of God.  Don't believe me?  Check out what the surveys reveal about the ever growing unbelief in the infallibility of Scripture -

“MEANINGLESS and PICKY DETAILS”?

The following short list is just a sampling of the divergent and confusing readings found among the contradictory modern bible versions. There are numerous other examples.  Among these “details” are whether Jeremiah 27:1 reads Jehoiakim (Hebrew texts, RV, ASV, NKJV, KJB) or Zedekiah (RSV, NIV, NASB, ESV, NET, Holman); whether 2 Samuel 21:8 reads Michal (Hebrew texts, KJB, NKJV, RV, ASV) or Merab (RSV, NIV, NASB, ESV, NET, Holman), or 70 (NASB, NKJV, RV, ASV, RSV, NRSV, Holman, KJB) being sent out by the Lord Jesus in Luke 10:1 and 10:17 or 72 (NIV, ESV, NET),  or in Matthew 18:22 does the Lord say to forgive your brother not “until 7 times, but unto 70 times 7 times” (= 490 times - RV, ASV, NASB, NKJV, RSV, ESV, ALL Greek texts) or 77 times (NRSV, NIV), or the 7th day in Judges 14:15 (KJB, NKJV, RV, ASV) or the 4th day (RSV, ESV, NASB, NIV, NET), or God smiting 50,070 men in 1 Samuel 6:19 (KJB, RV, ASV, NASB, NET) or 70 men slain (RSV, NIV, NRSV, ESV),  or “70 men- 50 chief men” (Young’s), or “70 MEN OUT OF 50,000 Holman Standard, or there being 30,000 chariots in 1 Samuel 13:5 (KJB, NKJV, RV, ASV, NASB, RSV, NRSV, ESV) or only 3000 (NIV, NET,  Holman), or 1 Samuel 13:1 reading - ONE/TWO years (NKJV, KJB, Geneva, Judaica Press Tanach), or 40/32 (NASB 1972-77) or 30/42 (NASB 1995, NIV),  OR 30 years/ 40 years (NET) or _____years and.______and two years (RSV, NRSV, ESV), or even “32 years old...reigned for 22 years” in the 1989 Revised English Bible!; 2 Samuel 15:7 “forty years” (Hebrew, Geneva, NKJV, NASB, RV) OR “four years” (NIV,RSV, ESV, NET), or whether both 2 Samuel 23:18 and 1 Chronicles 11:20 read “chief of the THREE” (Hebrew texts, RV, ASV, NKJV, NRSV, Holman, NIV, NET, Holman, NET) or THIRTY from the Syriac (NASB, RSV, ESV), or 2 Samuel 24:13 reading SEVEN years (Hebrew, ASV, NASB, NKJV, NET) or THREE years (LXX, NIV, RSV, NRSV, ESV, Holman), or whether 1 Kings 4:26 reads 40,000 stalls of horses (Hebrew, RV, ASV, NASB, ESV, NKJV) or 4,000 stalls (NIV, NET)  or whether 1 Kings 5:11 reads 20 measures of pure oil (Hebrew texts, Geneva, KJB, ASV, RV, NASB, NRSV) or 20,000 (RSV, NIV, ESV, NET, LXX and Syriac) or in 2 Chronicles 31:16 we read THREE years old (Hebrew texts, Geneva Bible, Wycliffe, LXX, Syriac, RV, ASV, RSV, NRSV, ESV, NIV, NKJV, Holman, NET) or THIRTY years old (NASB - ft. Hebrew “three”) or where 2 Chronicles 36:9 reads that Jehoiachin was 8 years old when he began to reign (Hebrew texts, NASB, NKJV, RV, ASV, KJB, RSV, NRSV ESV 2001 edition) or he was 18 years old (NIV, Holman, NET, ESV 2007 edition), or that when God raised the Lord Jesus from the dead it is stated in Acts 13:33 “this day have I begotten thee” (KJB, NASB, NKJV, RV, RSV, NRSV, ESV) or “today I have become your Father” (NIV, Holman, NET).

All modern bible versions like the NIV, NASB, RSV, ESV, NET, Holman Standard, etc. often reject the clear Hebrew readings and not even in the same places.  These are undeniable facts.  Here are many examples:
